How has your experience at Truman changed you?
Going to Truman has made me more confident in my beliefs and dreams to change in the world through my major. My time at Truman so far has been a growing experience for me in which I have learned and am still learning to be more outspoken about my culture and beliefs, even when the current demographic surrounding me shares a completely different perspective.
How has a Truman education prepared you for your for your career ?
Through the rigorous reading and research, I feel confident in applying for jobs in humanitarian fields after I graduate and engaging in field research that concerns topics I care about. My Truman education has helped me acknowledge and work towards these goals.
What would you tell a prospective student about Truman?
I would tell anyone who is considering Truman, that Truman is a place where you are encouraged to literally go after the issues you care about, through the majors available or through your own designed major! The community at Truman encourages you to step out of your comfort zone and express yourself with new friends. It helps you really find out what it is that you care about and how to share it with other students. The Truman community also serves as a wonderful reminder that you are not alone in life’s challenges and the stress that can come with life.
