How has your experience at Truman changed you?
At Truman, I’ve grown as a student in preparation for the professional world by working more than I ever have, being confident, and being a team player. Truman has also taught me to step out of my comfort zone in many situations. For example, we have class presentations almost every week and I meet with new people from different cultures and backgrounds all the time. Thanks to Truman, I’m more open minded and no longer afraid of the unknown.
What has been your favorite class so far?
My Junior Interdisciplinary Seminar class has been my favourite class so far. I took a course called “Sports and Society”. It was mostly a class about debating sports. Talking with other passionate students about sports made it very fascinating.
What is the best spot on campus and what do you do there?
My favorite spots on campus are Stokes Stadium and the Pershing arena! I love going to the TSU sporting events. I especially love going to the football games when I’m not running the concessions stand!
How has Truman education prepared you for your career?
Truman is very challenging which has taught me to work hard. As groups projects are important in Business, Truman has prepared me to work as a team and has made me realise the importance of working with people. Truman has also given me opportunities to be a leader and to serve the community. I know I’m well prepared for my career thanks to the opportunities I have had on campus and all the relevant courses that I had at Truman. The fact that Truman offers a liberal arts education and we take classes that are not directly related to our major is a true asset.
